Superb! Delicious recipes for sea buckthorn! I'm going to be getting one for the garden, as I'm so near the sea. In Schleswig-Holstein, they make a liqueur from the berries - a bit sweet for my taste, though if it's served ice-cold, it cuts the sweetness a bit.
If I remember rightly, a sort of apricot colour, but it was quite a few years ago now - the bottle and its contents are a fading memory, though I do remember enjoying it! No idea how they made it! (Memo to self: get plant for sloes ...)
Sometimes they have frozen lingonberrie t IKEA. I just finished To Kill a Troubador.I have read them all, now.! That novel had some truly succulent dishes described, and I am hoping they are in your book.
Seabukhorn may be hard to find. Could one substitute cranberries or lingonberries? On another note, any chance of a book signing near NYC? How about at our wonerful local book store, Oblong Books?
You could substitute most berries of a similar sort. If you can find lingonberries I'd love to know where...No NYC signings for cookbook planned but there may be some for the novels. Will keep you posted.

A sort of sloe gin? It must be a fabulous colour!

I have been looking forward to the book for a long time. If my German were more servicable I would have gotten it! Sorry, I can't spell servicable.!
Spelled in any fashion, it's a huge compliment.

All the recipes in all the novels are in the cookbook plus many more that aren't. Yet.
Loved reading your tales of Valentina and shall try making buckthorn jam.
Love to you and Martin from a member of the Watson clan :)
What a treat to find you here! I'm currently in Spain but would love to make contact once back in UK. How?
